Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Natural Gas Brief, including the website at naturalgasbrief.com, our email newsletters and any paid subscription (together, the "Service"). The Service is published by Googans Island LLC, a New Hampshire limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Service or subscribing, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What the Service is

Natural Gas Brief is a general market publication about U.S. natural gas fundamentals. It summarizes publicly available data, including from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), NOAA's Climate Prediction Center and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these agencies.

2. Not investment advice

  • General information only. Everything in the Service is general, impersonal market commentary and data. It is not investment, financial, trading, tax or legal advice, and it is not tailored to anyone's personal circumstances.
  • No recommendations or signals. We do not recommend buying, selling or holding any security, futures contract or other instrument, and nothing in the Service is a trade signal.
  • No advisory relationship. Using the Service does not create an advisory, fiduciary or broker relationship between you and us. We are not registered as an investment adviser or broker-dealer.
  • Your decisions are yours. You are solely responsible for your own investment and trading decisions. Trading natural gas and related products, especially leveraged products, involves substantial risk of loss.
  • Our positions. The publisher and its principals may hold positions in natural gas–related securities or futures.

3. Accuracy, AI and data sources

  • AI-generated content. The Service is generated with the help of artificial intelligence from public data. Numbers are calculated by code and checked automatically against the source data before publication.
  • No guarantee. Despite these checks, the Service may contain errors, omissions or delays. Source data can be revised after we publish. We provide the Service "as is" and don't guarantee that it is accurate, complete or timely.
  • Corrections. If we find a material error, we will correct it on the website.

4. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to subscribe.
  • You agree to give an accurate email address and to keep your account access secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Subscriptions are for one person. You may not share your account or login link.

5. Paid subscriptions and billing

  • Plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually at the price shown when you subscribe. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may not include applicable taxes.
  • Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe through our publishing platform, Ghost. We do not store your full card number.
  • Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and you authorize us to charge your payment method for each renewal, until you cancel.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then.
  • Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we don't give refunds or credits for partial billing periods. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Price changes. We may change prices for future billing periods. We'll notify you by email at least 30 days before a price change applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
  • Promotional prices. A founding or promotional price applies for the period stated in the offer. After that, the regular price applies unless the offer says otherwise.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may suspend paid access until the payment is resolved.

6. Our content and how you may use it

  • Ownership. The Service, including text, charts and design, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. Underlying public government data remains in the public domain. Weather charts and maps from NOAA are credited to NOAA.
  • Your license. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to read the Service for your own use.
  • Sharing. You may share links to our public posts and quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link. You may not republish, resell, redistribute or forward paid content to people who don't subscribe.
  • Automated access. You may not scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Service, or use its content to build a competing product or to train machine-learning models, without our written permission.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: - break any law while using the Service - try to get around access controls, paywalls or security - interfere with the Service or its infrastructure - impersonate anyone, or post spam, abusive or unlawful material in comments

We may remove comments and suspend or end accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Termination

  • By you: you can stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.
  • By us: we may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms.
  • Discontinuing the Service: we may discontinue the Service. If we discontinue it for reasons other than your violation, we'll refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows: - Excluded losses: we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any trading or investment losses, lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of or reliance on the Service. - Cap: our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Belknap County, New Hampshire, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the updated Terms on this page and change the effective date. If a change is material, we'll notify subscribers by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
